All proceeds (yes, 100%) from the I Am Vietnamese Project will be donated equally to three worthwhile charities that we have had personal, extensive experience with. These charities promote Vietnamese values and ethics in Vietnam and abroad.
The Vietnamese Culture and Science Association (VCSA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) Vietnamese American organization founded in 1990. It has over 500 members, mostly young Vietnamese American professionals in the US and Canada. Based in Houston, Texas, VCSA has chapters in Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, San Diego, Washington DC, Minneapolis/St. Paul and Toronto.
“We promote excellence in education, leadership and skills development through culture and science. Our organization encourages multi-generational and cross-cultural collaborations. We foster civic participation in the mainstream and Vietnamese America.”
Sunflower Mission is a 501(c)(3) organization committed to improving the lives of the people in Vietnam, mainly through educational assistance programs. We are an U.S.-based, non-profit, non-political, non-governmental organization.
“We seek to improve the future of Vietnam, one student at a time. We are bringing school facilities, teaching and learning materials, and assistance to education to Vietnam.
We are doing the work to assist and oversee the completion of projects in selected areas, where school facilities or resources are minimal or non-existent. Sunflower Mission’s hands-on involvement with these projects ensures that the funds are directed to the intended targets.
We improve the lives of the students and communities that we served. Our students finish primary and secondary education and continue to pursue higher education. We form strong and trusting bonds with all we helped. Our students become successful volunteers, teachers, and leaders.”
The Vietnamese American Scholarship Foundation (VASF)
The Vietnamese American Scholarship Foundation (VASF) believes that every student deserves an opportunity to achieve academic, personal, and professional success regardless of financial, ethnic, or family background. VASF provides Vietnamese American students with additional resources and support to help students become high-achieving and civic-minded leaders.
“We recognize that access to higher education is fundamental to a balanced perspective and to success as a community leader. VASF serves as a resource for the Vietnamese American community by providing a framework for others to invest in potential future leaders through the creation of scholarships, fellowships, and mentoring and leadership programs. The Vietnamese American Scholarship Foundation has been helping Vietnamese American students pursue their dreams since 2003.”
